U.S. Bishops’ pro-life spokesman shows truth about abortion.

Never before in the history of Western civilization has the majority of a society reveled in, legalized, or even merely condoned a practice remotely as vile and inherently evil as abortion. There is no better modern assessment than that of Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta: “Abortion is the worst evil, and the greatest enemy of peace... Because if a mother can kill her own child, what will prevent us from killing ourselves or one another? Nothing.”

There has never been, nor will there ever be justification for the grievous sin of abortion. Abortion is not merely the murder of a human being, but the destruction of an innocent and unblemished child at the behest of its own mother. Not only does she violate the sanctity of her own womb, but she spits upon the dignity of the tender, blessed life that was entrusted to her care.

And why does modern, enlightened womankind commit this terrible act? For the mere pleasures of the flesh, the belief that she is more fit to grant life or death than the Omniscient Creator, and because Satan, having through deceit and the promise of worldly glory deceived many souls into being his abortionist pawns, has further convinced her that is her “choice” and her “right”. Worse still are the young men who callously manipulate these women to their own selfish designs, and the abortionists who revel in the gory remains of innocence and have made earthly fortunes at the expense of countless souls.

The 21st century world is stained by the blood of the pure and ingenuous. The United Nations, in a recent meeting, mocked the United States’ feeble efforts to prevent the world body from enshrining this “right” to an abortion in its statement on the equality of women. Only a scattering of countries remain sane amidst this madness, and the United States, though by far the largest, teeters on the edge of its own destruction. There is nothing so harmful to a representative government as rampant immorality, and if we lose this war against the culture of death, the United States will truly fall into darkness.

The abortionists like to claim that we wage a war on women’s rights. They are correct on one account—it is indeed a war, and the casualties weigh heavily on the soul of every righteous person. Every last one of us is called to do his or her part to bring a swift end to this holocaust that has killed more Jews than Hitler and more Russians than Stalin.

But where can we look for a virtuous example? Who do we have for role models? A president who calls himself pro-life yet sits idly while the mutilated bodies of millions of children are cast out with the daily trash. Deploy that coalition of the willing, Mr. President, to burn the death-mills in our own backyard and perhaps we will think more highly of you and your fellow Republicans.

On Wednesday, March 9th, approximately 50 Cornell students attended a lecture by Cathy Cleaver-Ruse, the chief spokesperson on pro-life issues for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Goldwin Smith. Her lecture featured an enlightening look at the history of the abortion movement in America prior to the incalculable evil of Roe v. Wade. In essence, before the founding of NARAL (National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws) in 1969, there was no deluded coalition in favor of this horror. The whole idea of the “pro-choice” movement would be as farcical as, say, affirmative action, if not for the more than 1.3 million innocents who are slaughtered each year. This crushing figure is a mark of shame upon the souls of our entire generation.

For this reason, we must consider how Mrs. Ruse can easily come to terms with the staggering responsibility of her position as the voice of the US Catholic Church on this human rights issue of supreme and unparalleled importance. When she uses such rhetoric as, “rape and incest were always exceptions in laws against abortion,” we become somewhat concerned that the full truth is being withheld. It should be acknowledged that Mrs. Ruse assumed that she was speaking to a general audience, perhaps even one skewed with the morally vacuous political leanings of our beloved Cornell community. Moreover, a lawyer like Mrs. Ruse is by nature and training inclined to diplomatic gestures. Further, her uncompromising dedication to the cause of life in the United States places her almost beyond reproach.

However, all who claim to respect the laws of God must carefully choose their words and deeds lest they become an accomplice to the murder of millions. Any “pro-life” activist who does not completely and utterly condemn abortion, no exceptions, is not only useless but profoundly dangerous. The faith of the righteous must contain a purity of purpose or it will fall to the innumerable temptations that assail it.

If anyone allows compromise on an issue so morally fundamental, they cannot be trusted politically. Further, their spirit of concession infects the heart of the pro-life cause, sapping its resolve and insidiously twisting its ideals. Though the ugly mouthpieces of the abortionists will never sway Americans who support life, the insidious corruption of truth from within is all too common.

For examples of this inner corruption we need only to look to Mrs. Ruse’s parent organization. The administrative committee of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops published before the election last November a guide to “Faithful Citizenship”. An admirably clear statement on abortion is buried amidst a swamp of erroneous teaching and the promotion of partisan social experiments. There is absolutely no specific mention of Senator John Kerry’s heretical views on abortion and other moral issues and the grave danger they pose to the Church. Instead of confronting the increasing scandalization of the Church in the US once and for all, they talk endlessly about peace and justice as it would be engineered by their envisioned socialist state. There is no evil more insidious than corruption within, and it is our duty to speak out against weakness and corruption wherever it is found. Only by vigilance can righteousness be maintained. Though pro-life speakers love to tout opinion polls claiming a majority fall in their camp, true supporters of the unborn are in fact an incredibly meager minority.

To all true Americans, be they Christian, Mohammedan, Buddhist or Jew, abortion is without any doubt the most serious catastrophe and disgrace that has stained our republic since its founding. We are a nation that was created out of the furor over levies on stamps and a few other paltry taxes. We should be absolutely ashamed of our present inaction when faced not only with mere governmental injustice, but the merciless killing of 25% of our entire generation by approximately 2000 abortion clinics and abortifacient “contraceptive” drugs. As Americans it is our solemn and foremost duty to God and country, to release our deceived fellow citizens from the grip of Satan and stamp out once and for all the horrors of abortion.Cornell American

I totally agree with you in you comment that abortion has killed more people than the holocaust. I mean they are exactly the same. Going to get an abortion is exactly the same thing as dragging a family forcibly from their home, putting them in a death camp, torturing and starving them, and then ultimately killing them. I mean I can't see any difference. You truly are an enlightened individual and I wish everyone could invoke one of the largest worldwide tragedies in the history of mankind to push their political agenda. Thankyou for this insight.

i am an anti-abortionist as well and i recently read that most fertilized eggs do not plant in the uterine lining of a woman. I feel we should persecute the women that let these zygotes pass out of their body and start a formal foundation to raise funds for their proper burial.

You must be a most ignorant and informed person if you can't distinguish between a natural ending of life (i.e. fertilized eggs that don't plant on the uterine wall) and the forcible taking of life (i.e. purposely preventing these eggs from implanting or forcibly killing the embryo). It's as simple as the difference between murder and a natural death. If you can't grasp that concept I suggest you seek refuge in an institution because you are truly a danger to society.

your argument is clearly drenched in the subjectivity of your religious beliefs, and the fact that you are basing your argument on beliefs, which are not KNOWLEDGE in any way shape or form, gives your credibilty a real low-blow. i.e. - using mythical moral figures like Satan, to explain why woman are being "abortionist pawns". Douche bag.

P.S. - if this was really just a joke, good one, seriously.

The only thing that is mythical is the purported "KNOWLEDGE" that your amoral agenda is based upon.

PS. The only one laughing is Satan - who delights in the destruction of innocents and the corruption of souls.

i have to agree with this guy, abortion is horrible. and by horrible and i mean horribly expensive. abortion clincs should be burned down, they are taking hard earned american dollars for something that could be solved with a punch in the stomach, or a vagina full of draino.

Amen brother. With the rising prices of oil I have no choice but to hand my pregnant girlfriend a wire hanger.

"Deploy that coalition of the willing, Mr. President, to burn the death-mills in our own backyard and perhaps we will think more highly of you and your fellow Republicans. "

I couldn't agree more. After that i say we go with the animal liberation front and burn down some medical research labs that test on animals because they are death mills too. Additionally, lets kill the abortion doctors and their families because whats more pro life than murdering people.

As the guarantor of a Republican form of government, the President has a responsibility to safeguard the basic rights of all Americans, especially the right of the innocent to live. With slaughter on such a scale, he must act swiftly and radically. Military action would be entirely appropriate. Additionally, once abortion has been firmly eliminated, those doctors who continue the practice deserve the death penalty.

Your sarcasm is misplaced and illustrates your ignorance of the gravity of the abortion crisis.

What if we take the aborted babies and make food with it and eat it so it would be like the babies are alive and well in all of us and we can make a cook book and it would be called "101 Aborted Baby Dishes" and it would be like they never were aborted at all because they will be in us, but not for long because then they would be pooed out and go back to God's green Earth so it would be a circle. Mmmm, baby stew.

lets face it, if you push religion aside and get down to the meat of it, aborted babies are vegetables. if you eat it, it wont cry. when your poking it with a coat hanger, it doesnt fight back. all the life functions it performs are involuntary. therefore a fetus is like a salad, it just sits there. and as for the religious part of it, if your catholic at least you should love abortion. isnt the creedo of the cleargy something like "if it cant defend itself, screw it". i could be mistaken. i'll have to check my facts.

Gee, I guess pro-choicers really aren't pro-abortion. Safe, legal, and rare. Right.....

I reiterate:

It is completely unacceptable to joke about the deaths of so many children and the horrible suffering of their mothers. Please reconsider your callous remarks.

It is not necessary to be quite so base and childish. If you disagree, perhaps an argument? Eh?

I don't understand the use of armed force against abortion clinics and the sentencing of doctors to death. It seems like a kind of paranoid portrayal. If abortion was outlawed i doubt the places would put up a fight trying to stay open and the doctors would stop their profession because they are still doctors and could practice other forms of medicine. It would also be impossible to sentence them to anything because they were doing something perfectly legal when they were doing it. Also, its not like the doctors are running around, finding women, and forcibly giving them abortions. They are, despite how morally reprehensible it may seem, providing a legal service.

1. The sentencing of abortion doctors would take place after the clarification of the illegality of abortion, and only for those who continued the practice.

2. The burning of abortion clinics would be part of one such form of clarification. Probably not the best method, I should add. But certainly a better use for troops than "democratizing" Arabs.
